Portoroz Airport
As one of the better-known companies on the Slovenian territory we present Portoroz Airport, the third international airport in Slovenia. Located on the very edge of the pans Secovlje, and only 6 km away of tourist resort Portoroz . It’s runway is 1200 meters long and 30 m wide, the direction of landing, which is particularly important to pilots, however, is 15-33.
The airport is lighted for night flights, equipped with technical and aviogas stations. You can fly with their planes by arrangement,enjoy a panoramic flights or parachute jumping, or attend a flight school. Portoroz Airport also offeres accommodation, restaurant, duty free shop, rent a car and wash for vehicles and aircraft.

Portoroz

Portoroz is an urban village on the north coast of the Bay of Piran in Piran municipality. Evolved in the leeward position below the steep ridge of flysch. The port is protected from bora. Portoroz is a touristic place with hotels, a marina, in the vicinity are Secovelje pans and small international airport. In Portoroz there is High School for Maritime Studies, College for Maritime Studies and Transport and from 1995 College of Hotelism and Tourism. Here is also established shipping company Splosna plovba Piran.
Portoroz germs can be traced already in the Roman period, which is witnessed with the remains of a port and a small fishfarm in the sea where now stands repository of salt-pans, in the place called Fizinė. Archaeological findingss in the wider area of Portoroz talk little about a lively trade, and a number of wealthy estates, called “villae rustica”, which are stacked in sheltered areas and close to drinking water, later in these areas have subsequently incurred houses, churches, houses and villas etc..
